Our Authors

Every review, brand hub and buying guide on SnusMarket is written by a named person. This page introduces the people behind those bylines: who they are, what they cover, and how to reach them.

A name on a page should mean something. It tells you who used the product, who checked the facts, and who is responsible for putting it right when something changes. That is why we never publish anonymous or pseudonymous content, and why every byline on the site links to a full contributor profile.

What Our Authors Are Accountable For

One framework for every review
Our authors test the products they write about, and they use the same framework for every review. Aroma, taste, texture, longevity and value are assessed in the same way whether a product comes from a household name or from a brand most readers have never heard of. The full process is set out on our How We Test page, and the weighting behind every score is explained on How We Rate.
Primary sources first
Factual claims come from primary sources first: manufacturer specifications, the can itself, and published legislation. Strength reporting in this category is inconsistent. When a brand’s figures don’t agree across its own channels, our authors say so on the page instead of quietly picking one. The full sourcing hierarchy is in our Editorial Policy.
Dated and signed
Every page shows when it was last reviewed. If someone other than the original author substantially updates an article, both names appear on it.

Independence and Conflicts of Interest

Every contributor must declare any financial interest in a brand, manufacturer or retailer in the categories we cover. Anyone with a declared interest does not write about, test or score that company’s products. Authors do not accept payment, gifts or hospitality in exchange for coverage. When a brand supplies a sample, the review discloses it, and the product is scored in exactly the same way as one we bought.

How SnusMarket earns money

SnusMarket earns affiliate commission when readers buy through our links. Commission plays no part in what our authors write or how they score a product. Our Affiliate Disclosure explains how the arrangement works.

What Our Authors Don't Do

⚠

Our authors are not medical professionals, and nothing they write is medical advice. They make no health, harm-reduction or cessation claims about any product. Our country and state guides describe the regulatory position as it stood when they were written, and they are not legal advice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who writes SnusMarket’s reviews?

Named members of our editorial team. Each review carries the author’s byline and links to their profile, with their background and the categories they cover.

Do authors buy the products they review?

Yes, in most cases. When a brand or retailer supplies a sample, the review says so, and the sample is scored under the same framework as a purchased product.

Can a brand pay an author for coverage or a better score?

No. Authors cannot accept payment, gifts or hospitality in exchange for coverage, and no brand can buy a score, a ranking position or a place in a guide.

How do I contact a specific author?

Email the editorial team and put the author’s name in the subject line. Your message will be passed directly to them.
